I live in Berkshire England and I have been to Warborough in Oxfordshire and have seen many Besly or Beasly etc tombstones...I wonder if there are any Beazley or similarly named people living in and around Oxfordshire nowaday. I live in Pangbourne Berkshire my parents came from Oxford and lived in Walton Street - and once owned The Swan at Tetsworth - they also worked for William Morris at Cowley making Morris motor cars.
I understadn that in 1066 William the Conqueror came over with a knight (de Besely) who was famous for quelling the Irish in Lancashire. He was granted the reward of his own catle - Castle Beazley! Does anyone know of this inmore detail?
