I appreciate the access you have given to records that others try and charge for. As a person whose family has been split, this information gives me some comfort and helps reassure me that my history is not imagianed.Facts have a way of becoming distorted as time goes on and there are fewer people to speak with about the past.(Not always a cheerful place at that!)
I would like to know if there is a link to help update information that may not be complete, such as the fact that my Mothers maiden name is not included in the information. Is there a way to find out if this was requested by my Father or maybe overlooked in the stress of the event? I would like to believe the latter, but how to tell?.. Other than asking my Father, I guess. Yeah, you can see the Rock and a Hardplace I find myself squeezed into.
Anyway, Thank You for the answers I needed. I appreciate it very much.
Sincerely,
Sherry Brzeczka

My great grandparent's and grandparents traveled from Michigan to Kingston, Illinois, and then
to Ventura County. In fact, my great grandfather died in Ventura County. My grandfather died when
he was only 38 and lived in Santa Cruz County. A cousin has provided a wonderful and quite comical
typed up journal of the great grandparents, and grandparents journey along with some relatives which
was written about their trip from the mid-west to California. It's hilarious as to the number of flat
tires they had along the way. This side of the family has me stumped, as far as finding my ancestors were
they originated from and where they were born and married. That was in Michigan State. Since they died in
California and I was able to obtain some documents, and information....I'm hoping that your site can help
me in researching some things...Possibly to find some documentation or searching census' records there.
The family came to California in the early 1920's. The family name is 'Martin'.
Jesse and Nickolena (Lena) Martin are my great grandparents and Milo Martin was my grandfather. Milo Martin,
and, his sister, Pearl Ellen (who later married Clarence Bugg) were the children of Jesse and Lena.
I have the name of the some of the places mentioned in the journal, and in the death record book, when my
grandpa Milo died. I even have the name of the auto shop Milo worked in before he died. Am hoping this site
will eventually be a good place for others to post and research their interests. Between Michigan and California,
I'm hoping to find this "hard to place" family of mine.
Thanks for the neat website. I'm glad California is up to date on their genealogy sites, and information sources.
Much better than my state!! (Washington)
Well, Thanks for having the site!

I most certainly do like what I see at Rootsweb, I have been
busy for a couple of weeks just filling in missing names and
birthdates in the Silva and Carvalho books I am doing.
I am very happy I discovered the Rootsweb site. Thank you
