I am doing research on Joseph EATON of Wythe Co., VA (late 1700s)and Grainger Co., TN (early 1800s) and his descendants. I am new to the internet, just trying to explore what is available. RootsWeb was recommended by a fellow researcher, who speaks highly of it.

I have been searching some time for the last name WRIDER and
CHAMLEE. I have very little information dating them back into
the late 1800's in Claiborne Parish, Louisisana. I do know they
migrated for a time to Oklahoma (Indian Territory) in 1892 as my
grandfather Perry J Wrider was born there 11/25/1892. However I
have them purchasing land at Bossier/Webster Parish in 1906.
My father, Harlon E Wrider dec. 1990 was born in Ida,LA. and myself
along with three siblings were born in Vivian (Caddo Parish)LA
in the 1940's.Also, at some time Perry Wrider remarried and migrated
to ElDorado,Arkansas and he died 1 April, 1955.Also my great-grand-
mother Adeline Chamlee Wrider Sparks was in ElDorado,Arkansas at
the time of her death 21 January 1955.There was another child by Perry
Wrider and his second wike ( SUSAN ? ) and her name is/was ADDIE ( I
presume short for Adeline)however she refuses to give us any information.
At this time, I do not know if she is still living as she has not answered
any letters nor have we been able to correspond with her in any other manner.
We do know she had two sons names MELLINGER last know living in ElDorado in
the 1970's.If there is anyone with information on any of these names,please
