I have a fair amount of information regarding my family, descendants of Vines Hardeman Owen who married Elizabeth Albert. Both are buried at Unionn Methodist Church. Vines H. Owen migrated from Monroe Co. GA. His father's will filed in c. 1843, left him a portion of his father's estate. My question is: Why did he and other migrate northeast from Monroe Co. to what was then Henry County (from which Rockdale was formed)? If you have Owen, Hardeman, Collier, or Sappington relatives and know the answer, please let me know. If you have a good suppisition, I'd like that to. Good hunches sometimes pay off!!!!
