This is one of the best county websites I have seen. Thank you so much for all the hard work. My Upson Co families are Barron and Stephens. They were among the earliest settlers, in the 1820's, 1830's and 1840's. I definitely plan to visit Upson County.

seeking all information on drury gilbert as the slaveowner of my family in washingtpn and upson county,georgia?trying to corroborate what mrs.p.d.nixon obtained after i sent her information on my freat great grandfather miles richardson who said on the 1867 voter registration records of davis[cass] county,texas he came from georgia to texas in 1856.on the 1870 census of davis [cass]county texas miles is with his family and next door are his parents charles and sookie richardson and their other son julius and his family.thank you-muhammad abdullah-p.o.box 338,compton,ca.90221

I have not een much of your site yet but I like what I saw so far. My husband Johnnie Edwin Hickman is a descendant of a early settler of this county. They were John Hickman born 1755 in North Carolin, Aaron C. Hickman born 1786,in North Carolina and William Lumpkin Hickman born 1833 born Upson County, Georgia.

I am desperatly seeking info on my grandfather who died
before I was born. So far this is my only link to Upson Co.,
which is the county of his birth. Ionly know his name, not
even his date of birth. thanks to you I now have a e-mail
