Looking for Forakers from Owanaco, IL and Taylorville. My great Grandparents were Charles and Hattie Foraker. My Grandfather was Lyle Foraker. I'm told that I have a lot of family in the area, and would like to find others researching them. Thanks for the help :)

Dear people of Christian County,
I am looking for the history of Christian County. I have been to the genology part in the libarary and at the Historical Society.
I do have some info on my website located at http://ccghs.org.

I am also looking for unusual history of our county. I do know about the Indian Ghost that is by South Fork Stream. I was wondering if there is any other history. Like the true history of Stone Cabin,in Bear Creek township not to far from Anderson and Durbin Cemetery. And creature sightings other then panters. Ufo sightings and other ghost related stuff.
Please email me at ccghs@ccghs.org with any info on our County. Thank you.

Hello everyone, we are looking for info. I hope you can help.

We are looking for any info on the Anderson Cemetary located in
Palmer IL.

This what we know:

The Traylor, Anderson, and Fletcher Haines Families are part of the
one in Palmer IL. They are allied families and the cemetery was
sometimes called by any of the three names. as the years went by
each of the family left land behind to be used as a free burial
ground. Now additional land has to be bought and charges made.
Several members of the Leigh family have left a trust fund for he up
keep of the cemetery. But becasue of out fo the coummunity burials
have been buried, it has been difficult for the up keep. The
cemetery is beautiful and well kept, but there are al lot of
unmarked graves. There are stones ranging for 1716 to today. And it
is in Bear Creek Township.

Info was gathered from the Taylorville Library.

We do know there is another Anderson Cemetary but it is close to
Clarks. This is what we know about that one.

The other Anderson Cementary is located in Johnson Township.
Going form Clarksdale to the nokomis blacktop. It is in a middle of
a field. It is about foru miles east of Clarksdale. Tumor as it
that a family on their way west was passing by the Anderson home
when their child became ill and died. They asked Mr. Anderson if
they could bury the chil on his farm and he agreed. He selected the
highest knoll on the farm, and also had a tree there, and that is
ere the child is buried and sinc the it as bee used as a cemetery.
But it has not been kept up.

Thank you for all you help. YOu can email us at cchgs@metalmayham.com Please but Anderson Cemetary info in
the subject. Thank you.

Thanks
