roots web is a great site. Looking for relatives of James Heelan/Heyland originally fromIowa came to chicago early part of 1900-1910-1920 large family some settled on the north side of chicago. Some with the family name of William Heelan. My father was James his father & grandfather were William and he had a cousin on the north side named William he had quite a few cousins named Heelan. I am signing the guestbook with a question, in hopes that someone will take notice and help me. I am in search of a publishing company. Purdy Publishing Co., McVicker's Theatre Bldg., 78-84 Madison St., Chicago, Ill. I have no idea if it is still in existence, but I am looking for a book that they sold by the name of "The Bible Allegories" authored by George Millen Jarvis in 1905. He is my great great grandfather and I would like a copy of his book. I hope that someone there can help me in locating either the publishing company or the book.

Hi.I am looking for the Abrahamsen family in Illinois.They came from Norway (Einar Andreas)in 1903 and ( Augusta and Edwin Marius)in 1904.
They got two daugthers Mary and Clara after 1904.Einar 1875-1940.
Augusta/Gusta 1871-1923.Edwin 18.4.1902-1975.Mary was married Gaskin, and Clara i know nothing about.Einar/Iner was member of the painters union.Is there anyone who know some of the names please let me know.In 1920 cencus,Mary are 14 years and Clara are 9 years.I have been looking for the fam.almoust 4 year know.You have a great site.

His grandfather Michel Machino b: June 9, 1901 d: Nov 1961 and his father was John Machino b: July 8, 1878 d: Nov. 29, 1927. Wife Mary b: Apr 28, 1879 d: Dec 27, 1962. She was called Nona. This family live in Auburn, Ill. Sang. Co. and were coal miners. Mike had four brothers, Pete, Tony, Julie(living), Lousie, and a sister Lizzie. Any information would be helpful.
