Am having much trouble finding parents of my great grandfather James Clark 1789Va, moved to Morgan Co In married 24 Feb 1826 to Elizabeth Ladd, then moved family to Coles co Il. in 1834. In some info sent to me about my great grandmother Elizabeth Ladd was this statement" An Andrew and Nancy Clark, Siney Clark Cutler{mother-in-law of Elizabeth ladd's sister Patsey Ladd Cutler, and a Sarah Ladd Clark{sister of Elizabeths's}. all signed papers" for what it was not clear, "then Thomas Clark of Morgan Co In will all money to James" I looked in 1834 obits of Morgan Co In and found nothing on a Thomas Clark, but I did find a Thomas Clark listed in La Porte Co In obits, no next of kin cited, no age given, and I was so hoping that I could prove that this Thomas Clark just had to be my James Clark's father, and perhaps the other Clarks above mentioned would be brothers and sisters. Any one with knowledge of these names please contact me. I do not even know how close La Porte Co. In. is to Morgan Co, nor why Thomas Clark of Morgan Co would be put in the La Porte Co. In obits, but maybe someone there knows of Thomas Clark who died in 1834 in Morgan Co presumably and was given an obit in La Porte Co In. I have a feeling from the article I read that the Clark family of which Thomas could be the head is rather large and is intermarried with the Ladds and the Cutlers of Morgan Co, and Cole co Il.
