Edna Mae KNOWLES OELSLAGER who lives in Tampa is a childhood friend of mine. Henry KNOWLES m Tabitha Modina (Maude) MESSER were her grandparents, and her parents were John Edward (Ed) KNOWLES and Eliza SUMMERALL. The MESSER family came from ---, Franklin, AL, to Tampa abt the time of the Civil War. The only KNOWLES family I have ever found a match for Henry in, was a North FL county census. If I remember correctly, it was Washington Co. Unfortunately I have not connected him to the ones in Jackson Co, FL. Do you know of a connection? Henry and Maude died between 1900 and 1910 leaving a group of teenagers orphaned. More later.
