My grandfather bought some land on Feb. 14, 1918, recorded in Carter Co., Grayson, KY. in the amount of $125.00 for Lots # 11,12,13,14,15 Block 166. This is recorded in Deed Book 24, Page 95.
The first Party being Kentucky Land, Gas & Oil Company and the second Party being Valley A. Hill, my grandfather, who expired in 1983.
Since this was so long ago I was hoping one of your members might remember what ever happened to his land? Land doesn't just disappear but we wrote the County Clerk in Carter County over a year ago and never received a reply. My mother is trying to keep her homestead and is searching for property her father had. Grandfather left her his Warranty Deed to this property but no one seems to know anything about it. Can you help since this was so long ago?

RootsWeb is great. I am just starting to search for my roots. My grandparents were Leslie and Cena Zimmerman. They lived in Olive Hill, Ky. on what was known as Zimmerman Hill. They had 5 daughters; Edith, Garnet, Justine, Louise, And Helen Lee. Leslie died around 1957 and Cena died around 1966. They are both buried in a family cemetary that stood behind the homestead . I would love to get more information on them. My grandmother,Cena,was a King before she married.
