My ancestor immigrated from Wales about 1750. For years we thought he was Nathan Maddox but have not y found any link to Christopher Cornelius Mattox, born 1763 in Bourbon, Ky., from whom our line descended. Now we have reason to believe that BENJAMIN MATTOCK, Sr., of Pa. was Christopher's father.
In two censuses Christopher said that his family came from Pa. An early Christopher Cornelius Mattock lived in Philadelphia County, Pa. A son, Benjamin Mattocks, was born in 1734 and his wife, Hanah was born before 1741. They had three children: Christopher (1760), Sarah (1757), Margaretha (1764), and Benjamin, Jr. (1767).
