This is excellent. Thanks for posting all the information I emailed to you. Your site looks great. Sometime when I get a chance I'll scan some tombstone photos, as well as some other photographs for your picture page. I researched my McCurdy side of the family back in 1995-96 and now am trying to get birth certificates, marriage certificates, and death certificates so I can become a member of DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution). It's going to take a while though. If anyone viewing this already has this information, please please contact me. I would greatly appreciate any help...otherwise I'll be going through the courthouses in Pennsylvania; Abbeville SC; Lincoln Co., TN, and of course, Dekalb CO.- Fort Payne AL. Thanks!

Searching for my McCurdy's.
Aren't we all??
Mine lived in Massachusetts in the early to mid 1900's. My great grandfather was James F. MCCURDY. He lived in Somerville, Massachusetts until his death about 1958. Reportedly he was born in Keene, NH in the late 1880's but searches for his birth records have come up empty.
His wife was Ada LAMONT MCCURDY. She reportedly remarried after her husband's death. Unsure of 2nd husband's name. Have heard they moved to New Hampshire where she may have died a few years later.
James and Ada had only one child that I know of who was my grandfather. His name was James Allen McCurdy. He married Florence THIBEDEAU in January 1935. He was the father of two sons named Frederick and Richard both born in Massachusetts. Probably Somerville.
James Allen disappeared from view early in his children's lives. Nothing further was ever known of him. He reportedly died in or near Boston around 1970. Searches for his death records have so far come up empty.
Any hints greatly appreciated!!
THANKS!

I am always interested in finding out more on my lineage. I am Stuart of Bute and eventually would like to know and meet those of my family name which I believe goes back to the Island of Bute and the area around the Aran Penninsula.
