I am seeking information on the Mellons family. Some people in my family have left the "s" off, however. My fourth great grandfather was Jacob Mellons, possibly born in the District of Columbia. His father may have been born in Kentucky. His son was John J. Mellons. His son was Clifton Rice Mellons (Clifton may have left the "s" off). They lived generally in Hawkins and Sullivan Counties in Tennessee. I cannot find the parents of Jacob anywhere. He was born in 1798. Do you know of anyone else looking for these people? Thank you.
