Can you tell me if there are any hisotric mills accessible to the general public (if on private property, even by appointment) in your county? If so, please send me the name, phone number, e-mail address (if there is one) of a contact for the mill(s).

Sincerely,

Steve Illum, Ph.D.

I am searching for info on the lives of my grandparents, Herbert J. and Harriet C. Davenport, when they lived in the Westmount addition to Columbia. Herbert was professor at Univ. of Missouri from 1908 - 1916, married and brought his bride from Chicago, where she had attended Univ of Chicago and was professor of English.

I'm making the trip to Columbia in two weeks, and want to search property records (I have lot numbers). Can anyone tell me what kind of land system you have, and where to go to search, any tricks or tips welcome.

Thanks to all the listers (on other lists, other sites) that have helped so many, with both response and knowledge, as well as transcriptions, lookups, and just listening.

Thanks -
Robin
