I have multiple ancestors in the Amite County area, and took notice of an email from Kathy Schultz about the need for digitizing volume 3 of Casey. Our MSAMITE address is probably martinaa@prodigy.net.
I have digitized several thousand pages of raw information from typed/copied and handwritten notes for the Austin Families Association of America (wife). Look for AFAOA. I feel strongly that I could help digitize Casey. The rate would be about 15 pages a day, with days off for perfect weather... I would need a volume to be entrusted to me in Ocean Springs, MS while doing this. The result would be in MS Word with Adobe Acrobat searchable .PDF files. AFAOA does this regularly, with a CD of multiple books/immigrant ancestors.
It strikes me that the other volumes of Casey should be transcribed/digitized/indexed/made searchable as time allows... A searchable CD for under a dollar is a lot more efficient for someone not in the neighborhood... Later.
