Yes, this is a very informative site, but I have not seen information to the earliest documented ancestors, Cardinal Nans, from Cornwald England, whom served as Cardinal for the Church Of England resided in Cornwald England at Nans Castle, which still stands today, and is my direct ancestor. Through the years several spellings of this original surname have developed, including Nantz, Nants, and Nance. Migration was from Cornwald, England to Virginia to Tennessee to Texas for one of three Nans brothers in the first migration, which predated the landing of the Pigrams at Plymoth Rock.
