First time here, I am just beginning to search for my family in Burke county. I would appreciate advise. Here are a few names...Walker, Bettis, Davis, Mott, Fritz. My mother was Lucy Adaleen Mott Fritz. I was born in Morganton in 12/15/33. I have a number of relatives in the area. I am trying to get all the information I can to leave for my children and grandchildren as well, as for my brother and his family. Thank you for your time, I would sincerely like some guidance.

I most DEFINITELY like what I see at RootsWeb!! You fellows are GOING PLACES!! I am most impressed by what I see happening with all the recent changes and additions to RootsWeb. I can honestly say if it hadn't been for RootsWeb/USGenWeb, I may have NEVER found my grandfather's grave ... but THANKS TO ROOTSWEB/USGENWEB I did find his grave! Not only that, but I found a living relative (who lives not more than 30 minutes away from me!) and I can not begin to tell you how happy it made our family ... and my newly found relative was extremely happy, too! I am not a professional genealogist, nor am I particularly dedicated to genealogical research (I don't really have the time and money) but I do "dabble" at it. From all of my experience with RootsWeb.com and from the advances I see RootsWeb making, I plan to continue making donations to RootsWeb as often as I am able since I believe RootsWeb is a VALUABLE computer resource! Keep up the great work guys! Cmcamidge
