My father was Charles F. Nicholson born in NYC in 1893. He died in 1956. His father was Harvey Nicholson born in 1863 in NYC and died in 1904 in NYC.His father was Jonathan Nicholson born in Jefferson County, NY about 1825. He died in Staten Island, NY in 1897. His wifes maiden name was Mary Crocker and she was born in Philadelphia, Pa. about 1834 and died in NYC in 1879.Jonathan and Mary had 4 children in addition to Harvey. They were Winfield Scott, William A., Annie A. and Frederick. I want to know more about Jonathan and Mary--their ancestors and siblings etc.Thanks for having this Nicholson site on Roots Web.

I'm looking for information on my Great-grandfather Andrew J. Nicholson (born 1857 ?), believed to be the son of Harrison Nicholson and Rhoda (surname unknown) and brother to Angeline Nicholson (born 1858 ?). Andrew married (March 12, 1889 in Shenandoah Co., VA.) my Great-grandmother Emma E. Linthacum (born September 11, 1874 in New Market, VA. - daughter of John R. Linthacum and Mary Cregg and sister to Solon Washington Linthacum, born 1870 and Robert R. Linthacum, born 1878).
Most of their lives were lived in the Shenandoah valley of Virginia (Winchester and New Market) and the Hardy Co., WV (Mathias and Moorefield) area.
Any information on any of these surnames will be greatly appreciated.
