Rootsweb has been helpful. But what I can not find on Rootsweb/World Connect is the father of James Deal who appears on the 1850 Census Record for Amsterdam, Montgomery County, New York. You see I am tracing my grandmother Olive Deal Seymour's family tree back and can only get back to her grandfather James Deal on the Amsterdam, NY Census Record for 1850. This James Deal does not even appear on the World Connect Project. His wife was apparently Eveline (No Maiden Name Found) Deal and the children in 1850 were Jacob, Harvey and Frederic. Harvey and Frederic served during the Civil War. My grandmother's father was Albert Deal not born as of 1850. I believe my dad was named after this James Deal (James C. Seymour Sr). Thanks, Jim

RE: "The Documentarian: MVLA's Local History and Genealogy Web Site"
Linked Resources
http://www.mvla.org/lhg/linked.html

Dear Mohawk Valley neighbor:

Perhaps you are aware that for the past several years the Mohawk valley Library Association (one of New York State's 23 Public Library Systems) has been developing a Web site which includes a number of resources on the local history and genealogy of our region. Among these is the section of our site entitled "The Documentarian" which was the 1999 winner of the Joseph F. Shubert Award for Excellence in Library Service, awarded each year by the Regents Commission on Libraries and the New Yrk State Library. Since that time we have expanded "The Documentarian" to include materials from all 14 of our member libraries and have developed a page of "Linked Resources" highlighting other local organizations who are doing similar work.

This e-mail comes to inform you that we have included your organization on our page of linked resources. If you would rather not be included, please let me know and I will immediately remove your organization from the list. If you have a similar listing on your site, we would welcome reciprocity of linkages. Depending on how you organize those resources you may link to our Home page at:
http://www.mvla.org
or to the main index of "The Documentarian" at:
http://www.mvla.org/lhg/

In addition, if you know of other organizations in the Mohawk Valley Region that have Web sites but are are not included, please let me know the URL and I will have a look at what they are doing and, if appropriate, add a link to our site. Thank you for you consideration and time.

Yours Sincerely,
Rebekah Tanner
