I am trying to learn anything on the following.
JAMES ANDREW "ANDY" DEAN born 1858 either in Lucas or Wood Co., Ohio his parents were JAMES HARVEY DEAN and MRS. CATHERINE NANCY VAN HORN OBERDORF. According to family stories Andy told that he came to Vigo Co., Indiana when he was 5 years old from Wood Co, Ohio, on horseback with his parents in the night. He knew he had other siblings but who they were is not known to him. His mother was married first to Samuel Oberdorf and they had three children. Samuel Oberdeof divorced or left his wife and married a second time in 1860 in Wood Co.,Ohio, it is believed that at after this James H. Dean his father and Catherine his mother came to Indiana No records could be found on the marriage of Dean and Oberdorf, birth of Andy Dean all I know is what I have been told some years ago. Andy's son my father-in-law took me to Taylor Cemetery and showed me the gravesite of his grandfather James Harvey Dean and his grand mother Catherine Nancy Van Horn Dean. I later learned that Cathereine had been married first to a Samuel Oberdorf.
Any help forth coming would sure be welcome.
