I have started to research the steele family from york/or fishing creek south carolina. Never dreamed there where so many peoplewith the last name,steele/steel.How fortunate we are to be so many. My ggrandfather rufus g. steele/anna boyd migrated to texas.gmother died and he remarried. i've been trying to connect him to his place of origns.great journey iv've had thanks for the great web info. joy

This is my first trip into Genealogy. I want very much to learn more about my great grandparents and where thay came from. I don't know how to go about it, but I am starting. My Great Grandfather was Eli or Eligh Christopher Steele, my Great Grandmother was Sara Elizabeth Brockwell. Eli was called E.C. he was born July 4, 1869. Thank you.
