There appears to be a lot of sweeney`s in the USA. I am a Sweeney from England. I live in the New Forest which is in the central south of England, on the coast. I have two brothers, both of whom live nearby. We are all married and have 7 Sweeney children between us. I know that my Grandfather and Grandmother originated in Ireland but both moved to the London area in the early 1900`S. This is a good site and I look forward to making new contacts and hopefully discover new information relating to my side of the family.

Further to my last, particularly as most visitors to this site are from the USA, I understand that I may have second cousins living in the Atlantic City and Pennsylvania areas of the USA. I would be particulraly keen to hear info re these folk.

Great site, onward and upward to find SWEENEY relations. Settled in Bluestone Euclid Ohio outside of Cleveland. Early landowners of the area with other family landowners, SHARKEY, CURRAN, NOLAN, BROUGHAN. Anyone with Euclid Irish connections I'd love to hear from you!! Thanks, Cindy

I'm finding the search a bit confusing. From information gleaned from promotional matierial on a family geneology book, I've learned that my grandmother's grandmother was Emma Elizabeth (or Elizabeth Emma)Sweeney. I have dates of birth & death...the state in which she was born but not city or county...where she died...Who and where she married, but not when...where she lived her life...and who her children were. I don't know who her parents were or anything else about her. Wouldn't it help to narrow searches if all those options were offered to researchers?
