Comments:	I tried to access several things that said "online search" but they led me to Ancestry.com which is a "pay to view" site? Am I doing it wrong? It said Texas Obituary, I forgot the other thing, then I decided to quit trying. But I am old and it could be that I am doing something wrong? Thank you. Charlene

I wanted to know how I could find out about my Great Grandfather and my Grandfather, their names are JASPER NEWTON DRAKE and JESSE FLOYD DRAKE, both from Heartburg, in Newton County, Texas. I have searched for so long and I have found nothing. I have relatives that have found the family tree but are not giving out information and I have children that are interested in this part of their family. PLEASE help me if you can and will. Comments:	Great website! Thanks for all your hard work that has been put into it. I am still looking for Trawick and Brandon family descendants from that area. Joel Brandon married Martha Trawick April 2, 1867 in Newton County, TX. Thank you again for the site. Keep up the good work, it is appreciated.

Comments:	East Texas has been the home to 3 of my descended from families since the 1830s. They are the Droddys, Ashworths, and Thackers. I have met many cousins on several of these county bulletin boards, and look forward to getting to know other enthusiasts kin or not in Newton County, the home county for the Droddys for so many years.

Comments:	Still serching my own roots, made a personal visit to Newton County court and historical and could not ask for a better group of professional Volenters. Very very helpful in every aspect. Myself coming form the north did not know what to excpet form SE Tx. after the Jasper Tx. incedient. Was not sure how to approach or react to the visual eye glancing of the oppiste race. But after leaving the Newton County Historical Building I was truly mazed of the help and information I received from the People Of Newton Tx. Thank you Bonnie, Shorty and the other two nameless aids that were eye balling line per line items of cenuses reports with a hand held rule. I will continue to reserach and hopefuly find the beginning of the Ridgeways from Shankvile or Shankavile Tx. Sincerlly, From what I gatherd so far Third generation Ridgeways, and there is a fourth generation, My two sons. PS Did'nt really enjoy The country (times changed) the the people are true.
