Yes.. I do like what I see here, I'm just beginning.. and I will need a lot of help if any one has any to spare. My ancestrys are right in the Craig-New Castle community. They are the"Abbotts" My grandfather is George Washington Abbott,
<br>I have a few papers on him, such as the newspaper clipping of his death and he is buried in the Damewood Cementery. He was borned 1862 and died at the age of 68 in June of "31 I have a list of the children and others. But right now I am at a stand still. My grandmother name is Mary A Broomfield.I cannot locate her grave any where. She was born 1863 and they were married in 1883 and there was 7-8 children. my dad was one of them. At one time they lived in a 2-story white fram house located off 311 at the foot of the Catawba Mt (Roano0ke Va Side) where the land is flat and has a small lake by the south side of the road. as far as I know the house is still there in the field with trees around it. My Dad lived there as a little boy, before he died in 1957 he took me across the 311 rd to the north side and wanted to show me where my grandmother was buried. On that side of the road there was a hill covered with trees and bushes,he crawed up the hill to the top and looked, but said he could not find anything that looked like it was a grave, I could not go with him 'cause I had my young daughter with us, just about the last thing he said, Mary please see if you can find the grave. Now the side of this hill has been shaved off, I guess to make way for the road and there is a road that goes up beside the hill to some one else's property, there is other houses facing the road, I though maybe some of you would know if there is a small cementery there..or maybe she was burried there alone, as far as I know he owned the property. John M Oakey Handled my grandfathers funeral, but he could not find a listing of my grandmother. Pardon...me, for writing so much, but when I get started i can't seem to stop. So, if any one has come across the Abbott line or the Broomfield line. I would appreciate any info you may have and would share. I have more info I will send as soon as I can Mary Mew1329@aol.com

I like what is available. I just wish that I could find more on Nancy Carr and descendants. They lived on Johns Creek in the 1800s.
