Boy, am I ever glad to see a "Vandegrift" site. I get
terribly weary of seeing people who sincerely believe all
ancestors should have the same surname spelling as their own
variation. I think I've solved my particular surname spelling as far as ancestors are concerned -- I went looking for signatures and have found all but two or three in the Vandegrift line clear back to our progenitor "Jacob Leendertsen."

Hello all "VANDEGRIFT"s I'm really glad to see a list that
finally is concerned with the Vande's without the 'R.' Seems like we're outnumbered by all of the various spellings since our Jacob Leendertsen finally adopted the van de Grift surname. Hurrah! ! !
