Comment concerning information found while searching for my Pike County Kentucky ancestors.
I was looking on your site for information about my ancestors when I thought I had found my grandfather's parents. The site has his correct siblings and parents names. Then, I found his(my great great grandfather) parents names were Lewis Huffman Adkins and Sarah Cahterine Bentley. This information is not correct. My grandfather's father (Alex A. Adkins) was born in Wise County, VA. around 1871. His mother could not be the lady mentioned above because she would have been 10 years old when he was born. His birth occured in 1871 and hers in 1861. Also, he was maried in 1895 to Viola Sanders and according to their marriage certificate he was 23 years old. Lewis Huffman and Sarah were married in 1878, 7 years after my great great grandfather's birth. In the Pike county census I found that Lewis Huffman and Sarah C. had a son named Alex, but he was born in 1880.
I myself have never found my great great grandfather's parents names, but I am sure that the ones mentioned on your site are not his.
