I am from Craig County, VA and understand that I have relatives who went to Roane Co. in the late 1800s I am interested in locating any of them. Possibly Ballard (Carr) Caldwell family.

I haven't been able to find any info on the vineyard family in newton wv. They have been there since atleast th 1850'S and settled down along the creek. I haven't had much luck in going very far back so anything you can throw my way would be appreciated.

I feel strongly that I am related to Dr. William COBB of Clendenin, who was an early settler in the Elk River Valley. I am looking for documentation to confirm my belief. I also have a feeling that Dr. William COBB and Fleming COBB, early settler in the Kanawha River Valley, are related in some way. No one has ever been able to prove this theory, but I continue to search for the answer. Best wishes to all my friends in West Virginia!
