What is the name of the cemetery located at 144 cattle gate road, LaGrange? I think my great grandmother may be buried there. Its not listed on your site, but if you go to google earth and type in that address, you can see the cemetery at a distance. There is a flag pole and is surrounded by a fence.

What surnames are you researching and what do you find most usef Lenoir Co Civil War soldiers
Do you have any documents/information or photos that you can sen Company D 5th NC Infantry Roster
Comments:
Diane, I have 20 names from Lenoir County that participated in the Civil War for Company D, 5th NC Infantry Regiment. I do have their brief status for participation. Not everything about these soldiers are good news. I was hoping that you or your visitors/descendants could add some more information on some of these soldiers that have no status. The 5th NC Infantry Regiment was basically decimated through deaths, disease, battle kills, desertion, resignation, joining the Union under POW duress, and desertion. I think it would be a shame to not include these Lenoir County men that made an ultimate sacrifice for their belief or cause.

What surnames are you researching and what do you find most usef Baisden
Comments:
I am searching for the James D. and Eliza Baisden (both born in the 1850's)family of Lenoir County. I found on the web some excerpts of the Kinston Free Press that an Eliza Baisden had died June 1890. I have been unable to contact the person who put that piece on-line, so I would like to know if anyone has access to the Kinston Free Press for that period of time to see if any more was said concerning the death of Eliza Baisden in June 1890, i.e., who her family was, etc. If not, then I am willing to travel to where I can view those old newspapers if I know for sure where they are now located. Any help would be appreciated.
