Just ran across your site. My great-grandfather Luthor Waggoner & my grandfather Cecil had land in Rowan County NC (Bear Poplar, near Salisbury). Was wondering if we are related.
I've always heard stories about our original German ancestor being a mercenary in some war (Revolutionary?) who was captured and given two options: Marry take some land and start a farm, or hanging. So, he chose the family & land.
Does this sound familiar?

I was recently given a copy of my Wagner descendants by John Wagner, who was a cousin to my grandmother. When I have finished reading it, I will pass it along to you.
Thank you for all the work that you have done on this project! It will make for some very interesting reading over the next few (cold) months. Perhaps we are related! Sincerely, Darlene Kuehl

My great great great grandmother was Ernestina Wagner from Wurttemberg. She was my father's mother's maternal grandmother. She was born on May 29, 1848 and came to the US as a child and married John (Johann) Gustav Bischoff on 6 Sept 1868 in New Jersey. She died on 30 Oct 1925 in NJ. I don't know which town in Wurttemberg her family was from, so cannot trace her. Her father was William (Wilhelm) and her mother was Karoline ?. Does anyone have either Ernestine or Wilhem and Karoline in their database?
Thanks. Barbara

Hi,
I am a 40 year old lawyer (barrister)in Brisbane, Australia. I was doing some history research and located your website. The best I know of my Wagner origin is that my Great Great Grandfather, Johannes Gottfried Wagner, came out from Silesia as a Missionary to Brisbane in 1838 to try and convert aborigines to christianity. In time he became a Presbyterian Minister. I see that your forbears left what became Germany many years beforehand. I know nothing of any forbears that pre date my Great Great Grandfather as many records were destroyed during World War II as I am told.
Anyway, all the best with your admirable endeavours,
regards,
Julian
