We have been working on the Bristol Family for a long time.
Nathon #55 had Amos #109. His son Nathan we think moved to Lorain County Ohio about 1837. Bristol Genealogy shows Nathan had John, Charles,twins Harriet and Henrietta. 1850 Ohio census lists all of them in Henrietta Twp, Lorain County, Ohio. Unable to prove relationship of Charles (my GGgrandfather to Nathan and Nathan to Amos.

I have just purchased and made my home the 200+ year-old homestead of Amos Bristol, built c. 1797 by his brother, John, in Meredith, NY. The fine home was a tavern under Amos' proprietorship until 1826 and a large upstairs ballroom was the meeting place in 1813 on of the Aurora Masons. Original stencilling is still throughout the house, which has retained its architectural and historical integrity, thank goodness!

Throughthe Bristol book and family information, we have compiled our line from Henry. Confusion starts with Nathan #55 and Amos #109 and his sons. We have been to Meridith, Delaware County, NY and cannot prove Amos& Jerusha's son Nathan. He was not the State Senator from the 23rd District Tompkins County NY. We have that pretty well documented - only to clarify our Nathan line. Amos' Nathan married a Chlora Marie LNU and they settled in Henrietta Township, Lorain County, Ohio. They died and are buried there. He d 23 Feb 1875 and she 18 Jan 1869. They 1850 Ohio census shows them and twin daughters Harriett and Henrietta. Property transfers from them to Charles A Bristol, my great grandfather are numerous.
P.S. We have never been able to find Nathan #55 loyalist information.

My Grandfather, George Albert Bristol, served in the Korean war. He was born in S. Cal. to Albert Luther Bristol, who served in WWI and died at a young age in the flu epidemic after the war. My great-great grandfather was Luther Bristol, a farmer who homesteaded land in S. Cal. in the early part of the 20th C. Prior thereto, I believe he migrated to Cal. from Kansas. I understand that the family originally settled in Conn. upon arriving in America. I have kown for years that Henry Bristol was the original patriarch in Conn.
However, I don't know anything prior to Luther. Luther had 10 sons. I have a photograph of his father, but I don't know the man's name. Any suggestions on where to start?

I have reviewed the original Bristol Genealogy at the Los Angeles Public Library. I was unable to find my relative Daniel L. Bristol listed. I have his death record which indicated that his parents were Daniel and Mary. He was born abt 1813 in MA and he fits in quite well with the marriage of Daniel and Mercy Andrus. My Daniel married Mary ann Son who was born in NY, most likely Columbia county NY where other Sons were living. They had at least 3 children: Albert, Albertine and Roderick. Roderick died in early childhood. I have nothing on Albert. Albertine was my greatgreatgrandmother. She married Alfred Markham and their daughter Adele was my greatgrandmother. I do not have a death date on Albertine. I live in CA and hope to get back to MA next year to do more research in the West Stockbridge MA and Columbia County NY areas. If you would like to include my Bristols in the latest supplement, I would be happy to mail the latest Family Group sheets with documentation to the association by US Mail. Hi, I was curious as to what references were made to the Australian lineage 1861+ (Charles Francis Harrison Bristol b.1842...Civil War vet.) I believe that we are from the Eliphalet lineage but not sure. The Australian entries in "The Bristol" book 1 end at my Grandpa (Charles Francis Bristol b.1907) and we've been assured that his descendants have been listed in book 2.

I was born in PA but never lived there. I was raised in WA state. My great grandmother is Angeline "Lina" Lillian [Worden] Handy born August 6, 1843 OHIO [according to death certif.] and died Nov. 18, 1928 in Spanaway, Pierce Co., WA. Married Nov. 23, 1862, Rockbridge, Richland Co., WI.
Just received Angeline's death certificate with mother Melissa Bristol birthplace stated as OHIO but others have Melissa born in Indian, MA or Litchfield, CT. We all agree on Melissa's birthdate as 1816-1865 d.Wisconsin.
After reviewing your site, I speculate Melissa's line to be father Henry, Levi, Thomas, Amos, Henry, and Henry Bristow (Bristol)under "Some Bristols".

Dear John, I am very pleased to have found your information on-line. My Bristol line goes back to Eliphalet. About 1895, a great uncle (Bristol) received from the U.S.A. a family tree to that date. This encompassed as much information as was available. Due to the wonders of the WWW I now have filled in much of the blank spaces. Right through to Alfred the Great. I am very grateful to all interested family members near and far who have furnished me with all these links. I am the eighth child of the late Charles Francis Stephen Bristol, who was the son of Charles Francis Leonard Bristol (799), son of Charles H. Bristol (558). Charles H. arrived in Australia in 1868 having served in the Civil War, married an Irish girl and started his own Bristol line (it is quite large). We have the Bristol book, the Savage Ancestory information, and with the WWW, have filled in the massive tree as much as possible. The associated names are available to whoever is interested. My eldest great nephew asked one day, "am I related to everybody", I think maybe he is.
