The information on this website is fantastic. All the work here is a true breath of fresh air to someone who enjoys military history. As a kid I grew up in Monterey and Carmel. I didn't know my uncle was stationed at the Presidio until after I retired and began to research his history. Jack was in the 11 Calvary here, and I know he was at Ft. Rosencran for a time. I have several photos that I believe were taken at the Presidio around 1939 - 1941. Jack transferred to Airborne and was one of the original "Devils in Baggy Pants" I'm sure that I will return to this site to do further research. THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU HAVE DONE TO GET ANSWERS ABOUT ONE OF OUR OWN! Airborne!

A very informative site, my father, also Dan Ossa, served in the 11th Cav from 1933-1939(?). Also serving in the 11th was my uncle Rudolph (Ralph) Ossa.

I am trying to more information on my Grandfather who was a rough rider for Roosevelt around 1913. He was in the 11th Calvary border patrol. I have an original photo of him and a few of the other men in his regiment taken when they were chasseing Pancho Villa back into Mexico after he raided a New Mexico border town Columbus, there is another photo of him on this website that I made a copy of. I would like a little more detail about him if itís possible, his name is (Manul B Silva) any help with this would be great thanks.

My father was under the command of Colonel J. E. Sloan at Fort Ord California in 1938-1940. Colonel Sloan was commder over Battery H, 76th Field Artillery. Can you tell me where I can find more information and maybe where I can find a list of the draftees and/or enlisted men in that time period. I have a photo album that my Father gave me of his time in the Army and there are some photos of the horses he took care of. Thanks for any help you can give me.
