Dear Mrs. Gregory, several years ago I believe you wrote an article in the magazine of the Virginia Arch Society, about Powell's Creek, Weyanoke Old town, in which you did some mapping of plats along the south side of the Appomattox River. If you did, could you tell me the name of the magazine and date, volume, etc? I would imagine that the Library of Virginia may have a copy of the magazine. Thank you.

Hello, Eve Gregory:
I now live in Decatur, Alabama, and am retired from active work life. The computer still takes a lot of my time, although I have never allowed it to rule my life. It has been a long time since we last met and corresponded, by I recently went through my research notes and read a long letter written to you back in 2000. My, but my mind was active back then; yours , too! I hope all is well with you.

I am interested in buying a copy of your book on Claremont Manor, but have been unable to find it online. Can I purchase a copy directly from you?
My own research that overlaps with yours concerns Elizabeth Fuller Clement and her second and third husbands, Ralph Hamor and Tobias Felgate. My ancestor, William Barker, was a mate on Felgate's ships sailing to VA from England and sailed his own ships including the America to VA and is associated with Merchant's Hope and the ship of that name. William Barker settled in VA on the south side of the James and owned numerous properties including Flowerdew Hundred. I am a descendant of Elizabeth Barker Limbrey, William's younger daughter. I have found much on the web and in printed sources about Mrs. Clement that makes little sense when compared to actual records I viewed in England. What I have seen abstracted from your work makes much more sense and I am eager to read more. Thanks for you attention.

Hi! I got your e-mail last night. I am not a Montgomery descendant but I work on (1) families in/from Lancaster Co SC; (2) Pennsylvania roots of Southern familes; (3) Whatever attracts my attention at the moment.
I'll look through these materials and add any comments or information I am able to.

Gee--I haven't visited your website for quiet a while. It is a nice site. I must drop by more often. By the way, have you and Siegmar figured out where on his family tree the common branch is?
By the way your Trusty Executive Assistant looks strangely familiar but I can't quite place the face. Handsom fellow though.

Just checking to see if there was any progress on Hawkins
Kirby b.c. 1790-95 and Elizabeth Gossett b.c. 1790-95.
They were in Spartanburg, SC in 1816, when Middleton R.
Kirby was born.
Let me know if you have anything or if you need any further
info. One other thing, Hawkins served in the War of 1812
mustered out of Virginia.
Your website is da Bomb!! That's good, I think. Ha, Ha!
Many thanks,

Your information on libraries was most informative. Is there online access to Allen Co? How about Lib. of Congress? Is there a general catalog of ALL genealogical libraries--beside LDS?
I have two books that are eluding my search--interlibrary and online. No deal. Thanks for the references. Ann

I have a will of Francis Riggan probated 16 Aug 1727 in Surry County Va. that mentions his plantation on Alderbush Branch, Pinelumber Branch and Parson's Branch. I am trying to locate that particular area on the map. Do you have any idea where this area lies?
