Name: Sheryl Feild <MeDovely@yahoo.com> Date: 2009-11-16 How did you find me? My cousin is helping me try to nail down info. on William Webster, son of Solomon Webster, father of Andrew (Andy) Webster, of R Do we have mutual ancestors? We found William Websters writen out will, not just the list of children on your site. Do you have any suggestions? Yes, and maybe I have information you don't have. Such as my line. Comments:
My line decends from William Websters son Andrew (Andy) Webster. He married Sidney Gossett and they lived in Spartenberg, SC. Williams father is Solomon Webster born in Marland to Richard Webster and Ann Taylor. According to family information both Solomon and William Webster served in the Revolutionary War. I have found both of their war records. But I need a full will for Solomon Webster and the information I have is just the short bit from the Rockingham Co., NC. Will Abstracts book vol. 1 1785-1865. Old Wills: 170. June 21, 1796. No prb. His wilf was Heney (Henrietta). They both died in Rockingham, NC. I also need more information on William and his wife but have not found it yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is one family missing: Truitt. The Truitts and the Lows were related by marriage, as were the Truitts with the Holts, Fosters, Williams, and several others. The Holts, Fosters, Lows and Ingles all intermarried. We have several records after 1841 but none before. I am sending you to Pam`s site as she has done far more extensive research than I and we are in constant communication. I can tell you I have found the military record of John Washington Truitt from 1862-1865, and it began with his enlistment at Hillsborough, even though he was born and raised in Guilford. Let me know if you find anything to add to our knowledge as well. It is frustrating to have the entire Low genealogy back to the 1700s, know much of the Holts, Fosters, and Ingles, yet know nothing about the Truitts before John W.`s birth in 1841!

Even though I only found one little tidbit of information on the Long's Chapel Cemetary page, I really enjoyed scrolling through various pages. A brief history of me: My name is James Scott Clapp. I was born in Danville, VA on November 27, 1937. My daddy was Henry Clapp. I think his middle name may have been William. His sister was Carrie Clapp. She married a William Towler and lived in Danville, VA on Carter Street in North Danville. I lived with my step parents, James Franklin Vernon and his wife Rosr who had a maden name of McCormick. She lived in Ring Gold, VA before she married. They lived at 1324 North Main St. in Danville. Both have passed away as has my mother, Elsie Vernon Clapp and my daddy. I moved to Fredericksburg, VA when I was about 10 years old to live with my uncle and aunt. My aunt was Frances Vernon Chesley. She married Reginald Chesley. Both are dead. That is about all I can recall at the moment. Let me know if this helps you. I am looking to find how I am related to the Clapps in North Carolina. I have heard that is where my daddy came from.

Hi,
I've been reading the brickchurch archives and saw a link to your site. I recently subscribed to the brickchurchnc-l mailing list. I started doing genealogy about a month ago. I'm looking for any information I can find on the Clapp family.
This is the information I have so far:
My mother's maiden name was Dora Sanders. She is the daughter of Perry Sanders and Edith Neal. Perry Sanders parents were Elam Sanders and Dora Clapp. Dora Clapp's parents were John Wesley Clapp and Nancy Makensen. John W Clapp's parents were David Clapp and Hannah Blair. All this information can be verified in the 1860, 1900, 1920 census. They all lived in Vermilion County, Illinois.
My family has a letter that says that John Clapp and Margaret Hoffman were David's parents, but I haven't gotten that confirmed yet.
I would be really interested in learning any information you have on the Clapps' of North Carolina, if you are willing to share. I can tell you all I know about Elam & Perry Sanders descendants. I don't know very much about anyone else yet, except what I found on the internet.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Thank you,
Edith Hopper
