My mother, Helen Sapp, was the daughter of Torace Sapp and and Annie Bell Jump Sapp. When Annie Bell Jump Sapp died in 1925 after giving birth to Helen, Helen and her brother and sister were adopted by other families. My mother, Helen, did not meet any of her biological family until the 1980s.
My mother got to meet her biological father and sister.
She would like to know more about her mother, Annie Bell Jump.
I have found information from your research that says Annie Bell Jump was the adopted daughter of John Hiram Jump and Melissa Stewart. It was said when John Hiram Jump died in the explosion that his survivors were his wife and adopted daugher.
I have never been able to determine if Annie Belle was the adopted or the bioloigical daughter of John Hiram Jump and Melissa Stewart. If Annie Bell was adopted, who was her father and mother.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

I believe the Mary Matilda Riley (b 10 Jun 1848) you mention as daughter of Nimrod Riley of Decatur Co IN is the same Mary M. Riley who married Robert Merritt in that county on 6 Nov 1873. They are found (under "Robt. Meritt") in the 1880 census of Jasper Co IL. Mary's age is listed as 32, or born around 1848. She apparently died after Nov 1885 - when her daughter Minnie was born - and before Nov 1886 - when Robert remarried.

I am descendend from a Joshua Horn who lived in Giles County, TN in 1820 but moved in a wagon train to Christian and Greene counties MO because he and 360 other families couldn't get clear title to their land. Some of the others moved to Union County, IL. But they all seem to have returned to Giles and Lawrence Counties, TN by 1830, probably because the land was restored to them or else they were compensated for it. I have extensive info on his grandsons, sons of his son Calvin, who are William Wilbert Horn, Calvin P. Horn, and Edward Burgess Horn. I believe that Joshua Horn came to TN from Orange County, NC and that his father or grandfather was the Joshua Horn who fought in the Rev. War and is in the DAR lineage books. I don't know if they are related to Bythel Horn, et al or to Elisha Thomas Horn but would like to know if they are. 98-437-4730.

Hello! My great grandfather was Sylvester Riley, born in Harrison County, IN. He is either the son of John. H. Riley or his brother Tobias B. Riley. My husband Larry's dad, John Gabriel Rawlins was born 7-7-1902. We don't know much else about him as he was raised in Chicago, IL by an "aunt" (no information at all on her) and left there when he was 14 years old and finally landed in CA where he married and had a family. He died on 2-4-1982 of Alheimers. On his marriage license he wrote the name of his father as "John" but we aren't sure that is correct. He was told that his parents had died and he had no siblings by the "aunt" but not sure if all died at the same time and so there was no-one left or that he didn't have any siblings. The aunt was a devout Catholic, but the Catholic Church in Chicago doesn't have enough information to go on.
Thank you for anything you might know or a direction for us to go.
