Do you know what happened to Bettey Bowles Shores first husband.
His name was Acalease or Archease "Ake" K. Bowles born in Alabama or Mississippi.
He was first married to Mary Jane Gooch and they had two sons named John B. and Alva.
I am the granddaughter of Pearl Mosteller. Her parents were George Washington Keaton
and Mary Arizona Bowles. I remember as a young child going to one of the Shores reunions with my grandmothe Pearl. I just recently found out about her grandfather Ake Bowles.
I found an interesting connection with James Keaton's wife and one of Alford Wallace Shore's wives being sisters.

Great site and very user friendly. I am trying to find someone who is researching the William Hurley and/or John B. Morgan lines from Putnam co., Mo. I know that William Hurley was once married to a lady named Elender aka Nellie aka Ellen. Elender later married John B. Morgan(born abt. 1820) who I believe is my maternal gr gr grandfather. John B. Love your website. My Grandfather, Simon Nelson Oliver, was Gilbert Oliver's youngest brother. My Grandmother, Artie Lucinda Hurley, was the daughter of William Hurley and Emily Richmond. William was the only child of Andrew Hurley and Lucinda Whitworth. William was half brother to Millie Hurley. Before I found this site I didn't know of another Oliver & Hurley pairing other than my grandparents. From the very little information I have on the Olivers, Gilbert was the oldest child of Willard and Mary Caroline Oliver and Simon was the youngest of ten children. In fact, Simon was twenty years younger than Gilbert.I would really enjoy sharing any information on these families. I have loads of old pictures of the Olivers and the Hurleys. I love your website, I believe that I have a picture of your Gilbert E. Oliver's father, Willard T. Oliver with his brothers, James C., John, and Edwin B. I had never seen this before and was very excited to read it. His daughter Harriet, my grandmother, was the author of the postcard to Ray, as she was a teacher in Enid, OK in 1910.
