Chilton was last of 8 ships, I sailed on, returning from Med early June 1963. Was searching for logo to add to my memoirs. I have a "JIMMY" I would like to pay honor too also. My uncle Jimmy Clifford was a tincan swabby during WWII, sent home a Japanese rifle wrapped in white medical adhesive tape, and I can't find out his ship, although I can do so for $15.00...Regards, Clark RM2 TACRON 22

Hello, you have a nice webpage, it seems that a few of those ships survived to serve in Vietnam, maybe a different type like the newer Liberty types (next generation that is) as I had seen a few in Vung Tau, south of Saigon in 1969. I served in Pleiku (69-70) but managed to make a few trips while over there. Too bad that with WWII, it did not stop all wars, but I served from 68 to 89 when I retired from the Army. Bob Smith

I take my hat off for "Jimmy". He served when things got tough and never forgotten by his wonderful family by supporting him while he was away from home. I am a Korean "Police Action" veteran. I served with the 65th Infantry Regiment (Honor and Fidelity) from my Puerto Rico. I was wounded in combat May 24, 1951 after been in the war zone since August 1950 when we arrived after 26 days in a military transport. We did what we had to do.... fight for our basic rights as comprised in our Constitution.I know that wherever "Jimmy" is now he, his family and our country are proud for his service and devotion. May God bless you all!

Fortunately, our little brother returned home safely, but the United States lost over 50,000 of his comrades in the Korean War. It is often called "The Forgotten War" by some, but those who served will never be forgotten. They were all someone's loved one, including all the little brothers who served. So when I honor my little brother, I honor them all.
If you served with Evans (Jimmy) or in his unit, have photos or stories to share, please e-mail them to me. All relevant matierial will be posted, with your permission, of course!
Best wishes and God bless America!
