Interested in William Lawrrence Trott bn 1846 Chard married 1867 Sarrah Barrett Daley bn 1848. William's parents were Francis Trott bn 1822 Donyatt and Elizabeth Lawrence bn 1816 Chard. Francis Trotts parents were Samuel Trott born 1788 Donyatt and Catherine ?????? bn 1782 Ilminster. Francis had 2 sisters and 2 brothers Mary bn 1819, Harriet bn 1821 Donyatt, Eli bn 1824 Donyatt, and Edward bn 1827 Donyatt. Would like to find out who Elizabeth Lawrence's parents were, Catherine's maiden name and if anyone has Samuel's parents. William Lawrence Trott dropped the Trott name and became just William Lawrence from about 1865 to 1887 while he was in the Royal Navy and Marines and married to Sarrah, my Great grandmother. Sarrah and William had 4 chiildren Elizabeth Frances bn1870, Ella Caroline bn 1876, William Francis bn 1878, and my grandfather George Joseph bn 1879 all with just the last name Lawrence. Sarah died in1882 and somewhere before 1887 William became William Lawrence Trott again and married Sophia Jane Bean bn 1852 Eastry, Kent. Sophia & William had 3 Children Harry Lawrence Trott bn 1889 Chard, Edward Lionel bn1891 Combe St. Nicholas & Ellen Matilda bn 1893 Combe St. Nicholas. Harry also had another son Shirl Sr.( Korean War vet). Frank my great grandpa, had three sons with his first wife, Ronald( Korean War vet), Rodney who my dad was named after, and my papa Fred, all Army vets like every other man in my family except one. She, still don't know her name, left them in the woods alone as babies and ran off. With his second wife, Jeanette who is still alive, he had about three or four step-children I never knew- one is still alive, they also had one together. His name was Donald Herman Trott and was killed in Vietnam in 1969, he was a Marine and 19 years old, he and his best friend quit high school in '67 at 17 and enlisted like I did in '05 and every other Trott man here did and on mum's side, the Passamaquoddy side, were even younger for WW2 fighting in the European theatre landing in North Africa, Sicily, and Normandy, those same men also served in the Korea War and other Native ancsestors-dating back to Chief Neptune during the Revolution-in many wars before and after. His friend is still alive, was shot seven times in the stomach at point blank range, they were scout- snipers. We're poor and grow our own food and kill deer, rabbit, and partridge, dig clams and fish for the hard Maine winter(using my gal's computer). All but me were or are felons- go figure. Me and the oldman are carpenters as well. If you ever wanted to know what the Trott's and people in this area are like there ya go. Hell, come on over we'll show ya a damn good time and some homemade hooch. Great site. Gotta pass out now need to work in 2 hours. Great site, best people on earth. Not all Americans are fat and lazy, atleast not the poor Trott family anyway. Can't afford it.

Earliest known Ancestor Charles & Samuel Trott -died in 1830's
My TROTT interests (places & dates) Eastern Maine, USA-anything before 1940
Comments:
Anyone with info on the Trott's in eastern Maine before 1940 would be appreciated. On myself, I am 23 and an Iraq War veteran. Up the road from my house, lays the Trott Cemetery dated to 1836. Unfortunatley, some graves and head stones cannot be found or are too weather worn or broken over the years( heard it is even older). My grandfather Fred Trott Sr. died before he could find out more, he's buried next to Fred Trott Jr.- my uncle, he always said we were Scottish. Harry Trott, my great great grandfather, is almost a mystery meaning no one knows where he came from or really who the hell he was until he showed up here. Atleast that's what the older Trott's say, was a very big man. Worked until he died in the 1990's on a farm up the road past the cemetery( I remember sitting on his knee). His son was named Frank. Wife was named Ada. Don't know much more. If you guys know anything at all we would appreciate it. I beleive he was born in 1899. And any other Trott info would be great. Trott's kick ass and then some, hell, they were rumored to harbor and be pirates- which explains some cove names around here unless those numbnuts changed them. Either way this site is great- appreciate it. Ain't much on computers or technology myself, spend most of my time in the woods and with my good friend Jim Beam- that's how I found this tonight, but any response would be truely appreciated.

My TROTT interests (places & dates) Nova Scotia & currently looking into the year 1888
Comments:
Dear relatives & interested parties:
I have found a crazy, confusing & maybe amazing thing in my {& perhaps your} ancestry. My Grandfather, Bradford Ellsworth Morton was born Feb. 5, 1888 in Salem, Nova Scotia Canada to {& this is where it starts getting weird} David Morton & Julia Trott (Morton), BUT David Morton b. 1863 Kemptville, Nova Scotia & Julia Trott b. 1858 were not married until Oct 10, 1888Ö..now we can say a lot of different things about this EXCEPT, on my Grandfatherís birth certificate it states his fatherís present address as DEAD! On later censusí reports my Grandmother Julia Morton {Trott} is listed as a widow. Hopefully we are just looking at the wrong dates listed on these documents in Nova Scotia, but this all came to light because I am having an awful time finding David Mortonís death notice of any kind. No record can be found & no one has said they knowÖ..He was a fisherman in one accounting of him, so maybe he went down on a ship & because there was no body there is no record, BUT I cannot even find a date or close to & it does not answer the discrepancies in the birth/marriage records PLUS on my Grandfatherís birth certificate the fatherís occupation {thou dead was listed as Farmer}. Now, there was a problem w/ records of death in Nova Scotia around the time period he must have passed, but there is nothing out there w/ any even guessí for me to what happened to these people & when. This has a huge implication on my family. I donít know my father, & have considered the Mortonís who I amÖ.YES. I am a Trott, Nickerson, Newell & such, but my Mom passed as Winni {Winifred} Morton, not her married name. I even tried it for a while, because I donít know my fatherís name or wanted my sisterís fatherís name anymore. Now I am a Grandmother & want to pass on my late Motherís family history, BUT I am not sure what it is w/ this lilí gap. Any HELP would be greatly appreciated, you have done sooooooooo much to fill in stuff about the aboriginal heritage & we have gone back to England, Scotland, France & more. This one is just a simple mystery that needs to be solved.

Just wanted to Thank Bob Trott and friends for hooking me up with my second cousin Richard Trett who'd been researching our mutual family tree and got so much farther back than I had.
It was a real blessing finding this site in a Family Tree Maker magazine article entitled "101 best websites for researching your family tree".
My research actually stems from trying to connect/reconnect with family and thanks to Bob Trott and others here, we have reconnected nicely.
Take care and God bless to everyone here for their dedication and generosity.

Earliest known Ancestor William, Samuel, Eugene Trott
Comments:
I am from the Trott's that were from New Jersey and settled in Waco, Texas. I think originally might have come over from Germany (just a guess). William Peter Trott (William, Samuel and Eugene's father) came from Huntertown, NJ. Married Mary Elizabeth McInteer from Virginia.Had three boys, William Alexander, Samuel and Eugene. I am from the Eugene side. Looking at 1829 thru 1888 time frame for them. Not really sure where my ancestors came from in Europe. I thought maybe Germany? I know that my father had said that our last name used to be Von Trott, but that it was changed. Not sure when.

I have my GGGrandmother Catherine Trott as a widow with 5 children on the MO.,1880 Census but cannot find a trace or mention of her husband. I have no first name for him. She was 51 in 1880 listed born in TN. Her Father's birth state was KY.,and TN. for her mother. Children were William,age22;John,age 18;Fannie,age14;Henry age 10 and Samuel age8. All the others are born in TN. Samuel is the only one listed as born in MO. It's as though they don't exist after that or before Samuel shows up in Oklahoma.

Thanks for your Email.
Your site claims to represent the 'Trett's', but I see nothing (apart from the "distribution map" - which could be gained elsewhere ) to suggest that your [claim that your site would be helpful in researching Trett ancesters] is true. I'll not be interested until I see clearer evidence.

I'm new to this ancestry game and am using Genes Reunited and Ancestry at the moment. My husband's maternal grandmother was a Trott from Sheffield, but using the censuses(?) I have got back to William Trott born c 1806 in Outwell, Norfolk. Have got stuck from there, and distracted by other trails in the family...! I have received info recently from a lady in Australia who is distantly related to my husband so it seems there are Trotts everywhere! When I have more time, I'll come back to this site.
Thanks!

My TROTT interests (places & dates) Mother - Joy Trott
Comments:
I live in Melbourne Australia. My mother, Joy Trott, was also born here in 1913. She had a brother, Anthony (Tony). Her parents, George Trott (Croydon UK) and Beatrice Georgina Trott (Tunbridge Wells) apparently sailed to Australia in the early 1900's. I have only just started my Family History Tree and plan to make it a major hobby in 2 years when I retire. I also hope to travel to the UK again within the next 2 years.

Hi, From downunder the Australia, New Zealand Trott's are going well.

If any Guust Book viewers are from Australia / New Zealand or are joining the growing migration to here or who trying to make their Ancestor connections, please give me a call or drop me an E-Mail. We have a good
number of Trott TONRG members and you would be most welcome to share in our Research.

I am also interested in Vanstone, Broom, Rendle & Dobles who connect into Trott's especially in Devon, England.

Comments:
Earliest known ancestors were Trotts in Ann Arundel Co, Md., USA in approximately 1690-1700. My ancestors moved to Rowan Co., N.C. in approximately 1790. I live in Raleigh, N.C. I would like to determine the origins of the Trotts who lived in Maryland--where they came from and why they came to Maryland. I am curious about the relationship, if any, of various Trott families in the U.S. I would be interested in doing a DNA study if others would be interested.
