In the 1910 picture of the English Grade School, The teacher was my grandmother, Lillian Robertson Washburn.
She was married that year and moved to Tennesee. Returned to English around 1915. My uncle Harold died there in 1918 and was original buried in the plot where Minnie Hartmen Washburn is now buried. Harold was moved to Springport IN when Lillian died in 1927.

I am well pleased with this site as I have found informaiton pertinent to my surnames. Keep up the extraordinary job to which a lot of people have contributed.

Want to mention a correction. Wright Cemetery, Wright's Ridge. Goldie Wright is female. She is listed as s/o Noah & Sallie. I have a copy of her obituary which includes a poem written in tribute by my great grandma Lydia Sherman Backus who lived on the east prong of Locust Creek.

Thanks for the work put into this site. Really appreciate it.
Robert Knox, b. 1758 Balleymoney Ireland, is a lone grave
on a hilltop in Carroll Co. I believe him to be either the
father, or grandfather, of Austin Knox. Years of searching
has turned up no proff.

Dear Carroll County researchers:

Your new Carroll County website coordinator, Suzanne Shephard, is one of the hardest-working, most dedicated, and most experienced coordinators around.
She has turned the Adair County KY site into one of -- quite possibly _the_ -- best county sites in Kentucky; with your help and support, she can and will do the same for Carroll County.

Thanks,
Jim
