Comments:	My ggg grandmother Sarah Cowgill (1775-1860)married William North. Their granddaughter Anna North was my paternal grandmother. I believe Sarah was descended from Ellen, Ralph Cowgill b.1668, Nehemiah Cowgill b.1693, Thomas Cowgill b.1719, William Cowgill b.1749 who married Lydia Dawson. My grandmother lived in Philadelphia but was born in New Jersey.

Comments:	COWGILLS are in my husband's line of CORDERS (John, Sr., Elisha, Wm. Franklin and Elisha Booten). Tacey COWGILL, daughter of Josiah COWGILL, was married to Elisha on 25 Dec 1809 in probably Fauquier Co., Virginia. They lived near Flint Hill, Rappahannock Co., VA. Also, William Franklin CORDER was married to Ceattie COWGILL (parents unknown). She died and he remarried, Susan E. HARRINGTON. They moved west and they both died in 1906 in Hoxie, KS and are buried at the Hoxie Cemetery. I have just begun researching the COWGILL line and am interested in learning all I can about this family.

Comments:	I am from woodbrigde, Va. Along with my father and his 2 brothers & 1 sister. My grandfather and his family is from a small town called Flint Hill in Virginia near Rappahanock county I think. We don't really know a whole lot about our last name & where we come from and since my grandfather is deceased it makes it hard. His name was Thomas Bradford Cowgill and my father was Thomas Joeseph Cowgill. My great gandmother was Joesephine Cowgill I think which is my grandfather's mother.

Comments:	when my dad Richard Cowgill Sr. died in 1997 my sister did a mass Cowgill research an found alot! Different spellings of cowgill are common, she found a man with alot of history on the cowgill name, there she found a coat of arms (shield), census disclosed at that time 650 head of households named Cowgill, 2080 people with the cowgill name. There was alot of history found also, i will call her and ask her to post her name for any of you to contact her for the mass info she has. Basically the info states North Sea,Denmark as our place of origin, I also named my son Richard Cowgill III from our line here, my dads family is located in Middletown,Ohio and i know there are lots of Cowgills there. Comments:	It is supposed that my surname spelling is a variant of Cowgill. My ancestor John Cougle was a loyalist officer from NJ; research done byn others shows him to be a son of Eleazer Cowgill of PA. At the present this can't be proven.

Comments:	I am new to researching. I interviewed my grandmother, Ethel Hall Egan about the Halls. Her father, Charles Hall, son of Charles Wesley, was born in Padukah, KY. She remembered her Aunt Olive, and one of her (my Grandmother) brothers was also named Eugene. She remeber her grandfather being a circuit rider preacher. All she could remember about the Edwards is that Eliza always wore a hat and that some of them ran a general store in Bridgeport, AL. She said that her great grandparents had a 99 year lease on the Little Church around the Corner. Do you know anything about that?

We understand that she is decended from Ellen Cowgill, who was a Quaker. Comments:	My Cowgill line descends: Ellen, John, Henry, Henry, James, Israel, Jesse, Clarence Orestes, Clarence Orville, ME. Henry Cowgill (2) settled finally in Ohio and his descendants scattered. Some definitely went to Indiana and Illinois and some are believed to have gone to Kentucky and Tennessee. I'm trying to see what I can find out about Henry (2)'s othere descendants.

Comments:	Are your Cowgills related to the Corder families in VA? I'm a descendant of Tacey Cowgill who married Elisha Corder December 25, 1809 (at the age of 14) in Fauquier, VA. I haven't collected any ancestral data on her except for her wedding bond signed by her father Josiah. I've also got John Cowgill married to Elizabeth Corder December 24, 1810 Fauquier, VA.
