I am searching for Irene Sells, cousin and wife of Reverend Edward Montague (Monmohini) Wheeler.

Rev Wheeler was an illustrious student of Calcutta University,a great enthusiast of sports, and reputed Principal of a college.

Have you heard of Monmohini,Rev. Wheeler's mother?

These connections will be extremely helpful to insert a leaf in the history of female education of my country.

Please respond,

Your account of the Perronet family is of interest to me. Charles Perronet, son of Vincent Perronet, was the source of the Perronets in my family tree. Charles had a son, Stephen, who changed the spelling to Peironnet and my ancestors since then have used that spelling. I'm glad I found your website having not known of this Jean Perronet, father of David Perronet. That takes my search back another generation. I have Charles Peronnet being born in 1719 instead of 1723. Otherwise we agree.

Hi,
Was searching different sites this evening wondering about my Great-Great-Grandpa John Prokop's sister (Mary Prokop Tumpach) and what became of her and her descendants. I knew that she was married to George Tumpach and had several children, many of whom died young. I also knew that Mary Tumpach was widowed and remarried in 1911 to John Ruzicka, which led me astray for a time. In the 1920 census I found Mary back to using the Tumpach name and living in Cicero, IL with or very near to her daughter, Mary, who was married to William Balcar and who had daughters named Lillian and Violet. I googled "Lillian Balcar" and came up with your site. So... it's kind of neat to see there are descendants! My Great-Grandma was Antonie "Tena" Prokop who married Joseph Struensee Sr. Tena and Joe Sr. had a daughter, Blanche Struensee, who moved to Cicero as a young lady... so I suppose she knew her Aunt Mary down there. Anyway, would be interested in learning more or gaining contact with distant cousins if possible.
Thanks much for posting the information...
Best wishes,
Kevin Struensee

What a tremendous collection of information!! I am part of the Briggs/Perronet line... one of the sons of Thomas Thompson and Philothea Perronet Briggs was John Vincent Thompson. One of his sons was Alfred Perronet Thompson. Alfred had two sons, Ernest and Ivan Peronet (the second R was dropped somewhere between Europe and the USA). Ivan had one child, Gerald Peronet Thompson. Gerald married a woman from Bremen, Germany, and they had six children - the youngest of which is Michael Peronet Thompson. He is my father. I have eight cousins and they have a collection of something like 17 children amongst them.

I have more info if it would interest you at all!!

Thanks,

Jes

Hi,

My husband's great-grandparents are in your tree: Lulu Agoneal Barth and Albert Augustus Markham. It's a collateral line for you, so you may not want more information. If you do, please e-mail me; I have a little bit. I don't want to post the more recent stuff, but here are death dates for the two of them:

Lulu Agoneal Barth
28 September 1960

Albert Augustus Markham
16 November 1962

My husband's grandmother was one of their children, and she lived to be 95 years old and only died a few years ago. What we have on the line came from her directly.

This is a little unsettling to find all this information about me on the Internet, but, it's interesting. I descend from one of the Schuman lines. I've had three children: Jessica Leeann Hoffelder, Allison Marie Hoffelder and Zachary Fredrick Hoffelder. My sister, Jennifer Rebecca (Legg) Palmo has had three children: Rebecca Leigh Palmo, Nina Madeline Palmo and Maya Palmo - her middle name escapes me right now. Our mother, Linda Lee (Schuman) Legg, unfortunately passed away in 2005. My brother, Mike Legg, married Kari Krolokowski in 2004. She took his name, so she's Kari Legg.
Do you follow the lines of the spouses?

What do you use this information for? With all the ID theft out there, do you think this is safe?
Just curious.

I am trying to piece together my father's family tree. This task is not easy as I have precious little live information to go on. On looking at your website today, I noticed a similarity in one of the names you mention (Charles de Grave Sells) and my own late father's name: Guy de Grave Sells. My own researches have got me to India (where my grandfather was a minor public servant) and also to the Perronet branch, although in this latter case, I am not sure whether the line I have been following is entirely sure. I was wondering, given the similarity in at least part of one name (and I have not managed to trace the root of "de Grave"), whether it might be of interest to exchange information in case this helps us fill any of our respective gaps in knowledge?
Kind regards

Hi - excellent site!

I am not sure if there is a connection between our families, but here is some information on the Sells family of which I am a member.

William Sells of Kingston-on Thames, London & Kingston, Jamaica married Euphemia. He died in 1841 aged 62 or 63 years old. He was a doctor and had written a book regarding the condition of slaves in Jamaica.

They had a son, Thomas Jenner Sells LSA, MRCS, who was a surgeon in Guildford, and developed an area of the town which he named "Chalotteville" after his wife Charlotte, nee Stedman.

They had several children, one of whom was Hubert Thomas Sells, MRCS, LRCPE, who practised medicine at Northfleet in Kent. He married Josephine Jane Taylor and they had two children.

Roland Thomas Sells (also a doctor) and Enid Sells, my grandmother, who married Henry Hebden Hurwood, MA, who became the Rector of Crayford in Kent.

Enid and Henry had two sons, both doctors, named David Sells Hurwood, MRCS LRCP FRCGP - my father, and Hubert Anthony Hurwood MB BS DObstRCOG - my uncle.

David married my mother Mary and they have two children, Elizabeth, my sister, and myself Richard Sells Hurwood. I am also a doctor, and family tradition says I am the ninth generation.

I know Hubert Thomas Sells trained at Guy's Hospital, as did my great uncle Roland, my father David, Uncle Anthony and myself.

If you are aware of any possible connections, I would be delighted to hear from you.

Dick Hurwood
