my father is Donald G Carrick, my mother Cathy Smales - my maternal grandmother also Cathy Smales. My mother has explained in detail about all my relatives (some of whom I've never met) but I can never remember all the details. I do know there's relatives possibly in Australia or New Zealand, on my mother's side. The (sur)name Backhouse is also relevant to our family
