Comments:
My Dad and sister have been researching family history for years and I just recently started to join in. Our Griffin Family (John and Mary Steel)came from Ireland in the mid 1800s and settled in Rome to raise children John, Dennis, Mary, James, Ann, Margaret and Jeremiah. Some worked for the railroad, and stayed on there. My G_Grandfather James came to Buffalo NY to raise his family and that's where we live still. Have found much useful info on the web, and hope to be able to visit Rome one day.
Kind regards,
TJ Griffin

I have a roadblock with NANCY BERCIER (Berha,Barsha, Berge) who was born in Switzerland about 1843 and came to Croghan, Lewis Co., where she had two children, Louisa and Josephine Bercier. Josephine married first, Sebastian Guion who died in the Civil War and then Pierre (Peter) Forgeon.

Any tips appreciated.

Glad to see you have the website up and running.
I have a Hubbards of New England website on myfamily.com, and many members have brick walls in Oneida County or Lewis County, NY.
I also contribute transcriptions to Jane Devlin's website, one of them being bios of people in Rome, NY.

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~jdevlin/ny/rome_ny_gen1.htm

Do you plan to post vital records, church records, etc. when they're found?

Cheers, Coralynn
