I would like to say thank you for bringing the threads of my famiy together to create a beautiful tapestry of our history and heritage. I began my search 7 years ago and with the purchase of a computer in 1997 and access to Rootsweb and USGENWEB, along with the various mailing lists, I have had a total blast! The information I have derived is a useful tool in my research; however, I believe the people I have met are the most vibrant key to any success I might have found. I "know" cousins from coast to coast and if they drive Interstate 10 through Louisiana on their research mission they stop in to visit or share a meal. We have gone to the cemteries of Amite and Wilkinson County, Mississippi, written chapters on our histories, compared notes, and recently formed a reunion for Amite County "Cousins" (anyone who has ancestors in Amite County) for June 2001. Now where could any of this have taken place if not through the internet and Rootsweb? The tapestry of my family is all the more colorful and stronger due to the many new fmaily members and friends I have been blessed to meet. We share not only our history, but our present lives as well.
