My Success Story:
I began the long task of researching both my parents & husbands ancestors. I kept hitting brick walls after brick walls. I finally got comfortable enough to do some postings. Sometime had gone by, there was a dear lady in california who read my posting, she sent me a transcription of my Great-grandfather & grandmothers death certificate as well as mailed their obits and one on a son that had died. Next a gentleman from South Carolina got in touch with me, he has helped me a whole lot, whenever I receive information from someone I send it to him and vice-versa. Also a lady in Alabama got in touch with me, she sent me what she had, which was a lot and I helped fill in blanks on my side for her. For awhile I was about to give up on a couple of the family surnames, but with the help of rootsweb I have been able to go further than I ever dreamed. With all the help I received I too have volunteered to do lookups in my area. All the information I have received has also made my mom a very happy woman. Thanks rootsweb and to all those out there who have sacrificed their time to donate to others.

My Success Story:
I have been trying for some time to locate all my fami,y to put together an ancestry book for my grandchildren, and I have found quite a few through your site. Yesterday I found my grandmother on my dads side, but I still haven't found where she was from. Nor have I found my dad on here, but I'm still trying. He passed away several years ago and the name does not show up in the soc. sec. death section. Nor does California have him listed. Thanks so much for making all this possible.
