My Success Story:
I found so many links on rootsweb, it is hard to remember them all. The biggest and the brightest stars are: I just got information on my great, great, grandparents who lived in England from a woman in Australia who has an ancestor with the same surname. There is no relationship, but she shared some census information that put a huge hole in that brick wall I was up against. In addition, I found a long lost family connection on my husband's side, which has opened another hole. The findings will be shared at a family reunion this May. I have gathered so much information from rootsweb and through SSDI that I think I may have even found my grandmother's brother, whom everyone assumed died as a young man. If I can make a match, he lived longer than my grandmother! The SSDI has been invaluable to confirm dates of birth and death. I thought I had good information from the US Census, turns out there are many, many, errors on those reports. But thanks to rootsweb, I have been able to correct those errors and hopefully those who continue this search after I am gone will find rootsweb as the best tool for them as well. Thanks ever so much. Kathleen

My Success Story:
To whom it may concern: I would like to first take the time to thank each and every person who is responsible for putting together the Rootsweb Site. I have been and continue to research my family tree and have found countless resources within you pages. My family history starts back in 1871, Philadlephia, pa. with my Great Grandfather and I have been able to gather data on the family up to January 2000. I also have had the opportunity to reunite with members of my family that have lost touch over the years, and I have also found that there are still remaining members of the family that are still living that have also given me a great deal of personnal data on the family. In closing, I wish to thank you again for the great benifits that your site has afforded me in retracing my past, I presently work in the Philadelphia, area and encounter coultless people who are also trying to retract their perspective past, and I have given them your website informaiton and have received E-mails back from quite a few thanking me for the informaiton. Sincerely, Mr. Robert L. Heim, Jr. E-mail: RobtHeim@aol.com

My Success Story:
I recently decided to contribute two of my ancestor lines to the RootsWeb collection. After uploading the material, I tested the transfer using my family name. To my suprise, I hit a mention of my Uncle James. He had lost his first wife, Irene Fisher, in the early 1930's and remarried. The hit was from the Fisher family whose modern relatives had also uploaded their linages. I was alble to locate both submitters and have exchangeddata. That was great!!!
